Recently I went to the cinema to see the Amazing Spiderman. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I had picked up clues that this might be a film that for all intensive purposes pretends the other films never happened. Personally it seems a little too soon to be retelling the spiderman story, but I do like these comic book, fantasy, action type movies, so I thought I would give it a chance.

It’s still spiderman – but it’s different

Overall I thought that it was a very enjoyable, entertaining film, but I just couldn’t shake a feeling that something wasn’t quite right about it, and I’m not sure what. Perhaps it was just the differences and deviations from the Toby Maguire films. Perhaps it was just the way that the Peter Parker characters starts out as quite a popular, all american kid rather than the geeky kid I might better relate to.

I suggested this to a friend and he told me that he didn’t think that “geeks like that really exist any more”

Well, I have news for him … We’re Everywhere!
