Last week I posed this puzzle, which was all about binary.

Rob being the puzzlemeister that he is quickly provided the answer (although only after providing a wrong answer, possibly because I worded the question badly). Even though Rob’s text based explanation was more than adequate I’d already made a picture of the answer, and I’m not wasting it, so here it is:

Poisoned shot answer

The process is as follows:
Assign each glass a binary number, then split each rank of each binary number between the two test tubes. Shining the light on the test tubes will then reveal which shot glass contains the poison. It’s a little like doing a binary AND with the number of the poisoned glass.


Hhhmm, I think Rob explained it better. My picture is a lot prettier though!
